Trev and My Baby's (JJ) 1st Day of School

Today was the day that Trevor has been dreading and JJ has been waiting for, basically for the whole last month. I have mixed feelings. I am grateful that JJ is excited for school and that I have the morning to myself but yet it signifies a big phase in my life--JJ is no longer dependent solely on me. He was so excited this morning that he wanted to leave 15 minutes before we were supposed to leave. I just hope that this excitement continues but in a few weeeks I will probably be dragging him out of bed. Trev was very accomodating and let me take his picture with his brother and by himself. Trevor is starting his 8th grade year and JJ is of course in Kindergarten. John officially started school today also, and when I talked to him about 10:30 this morning, the day wasn't going so great. Justin does not start until Wednesday and is enjoying his last few days of freedom. He actually has a Riverton High Tournament today, and I am trying to occupy my time and thoughts so I don't get physically sick. Anyways here are the cute boys in what John calls their "Harry Potter" outfits.

The two boys together (I didn't notice Trev had his eyes closed WOOPS!!!)...

When we got to school, Trevor took care of himself and I walked with JJ to his classroom. The teacher had them find their hooks for their coats and backpacks and it was a good thing I was there, because they had his name as Jayden W., and he only recognizes JJ, his desk was also that way so we let the teacher know that even though his given name is Jayden he is a JJ and that's how we want it to be in school.

Looking all official and ready for the school day to start...

It was so cute, because the teacher had them start coloring a bee while everyone was getting situated. JJ took the yellow and black crayon out of the box and started to work very intently on his bee. I was so proud!!!

4 Wheeling with Ahlbergs in Nephi Canyon

Yesterday, the Ahlberg's called and asked if we would like to go four wheeling with them in Nephi Canyon. Well we haven't even used the 4-wheeler this summer and since it was the last Saturday before school started it was a fun way to end the summer. Justin actually had an opportunity to make some money by painting a few rooms for a neighbor and of course he wouldn't want to miss out on a day of golf, so he was able to get 18 holes in before we even got home (very slowly Justin is easing his way out of our lives and I don't LIKE it one BIT!!!!) Anyways, we had a great time and the trail was beautiful but very dusty and once again I am very grateful for running HOT water and washing machines and dryers.

The BEAUTIFUL scenery...

Getting ready for the ride (John makes sure we are safe with our helmets)...

Taking a rest and enjoying the scenery...

At our rest stop, Leann was adventerous and hiked a ways up a hill with the little guys and here are her and JJ conquering the hill...

We are all nice and dusty and tired at the end of our ride (notice JJ fell asleep on the ride down)...

Carl with Michael and Nate...

Leann with Parker (who won't look at the camera)...

Finally, the Big Stud loading the 4wheeler to go home...

We had a fun day...Thanks for the invite Ahlbergs!!!

Strawberry Resevoir Fishing Trip

Our good friend, Brad Fullmer, loves to fish and has always been so good to take our boys fishing. He tries to make sure that he takes Trevor out around his birthday. They went this past Monday, and struck GOLD!!! As Uncle Alan would say, "They caught several LUNKERS." Justin declared that he was a "golfer" and not a "fisherman", so it was just John, Trev, JJ, and Brad. They caught a total of 27 fish.

Yuba Lake with the Hoaldridges

Yes, we love Yuba Lake!!! We took my sis and her family out yesterday and had a hoot. I am very impressed with my sis because she hates boats and lakes and not only did she get in the boat she also got in the lake (accidentally of course.) Even with the wind, we had a great time. Trevor and Brayden had a great time on the tube and actually wanted to get flipped.
Here they are:

Getting whipped around...

Baylee was a little nervous about getting on the tube, but Nicole and I talked her into going with us (my first time on the new tube.) We had so much fun until we made it through a really rough turn and waves and accidentally got flipped when the water ran in through the front. We all survived but Baylee was out of that lake as soon as she could be.
Taking a nice ride...
Nicole and I getting brave and standing up...

Even BJ joined in on the fun...

Having a good 'ol time...

We were very surprised when Bryson (not even 2 years old), started yelling that he wanted to get on the tube (this from the same little boy that was crying because he was scared when the boat first started going.) He absolutely loved it and Ozzie and JJ joined us for the fun.

This next picture looks like Ozzie and Bryson are on the tube by themselves but Trev is actually in back maintaining balance on the tube.

You will notice there are no pictures of Justin. He has Golf tryouts all this week so we won't be seeing much of him. Here are different shots of everyone enjoying the day.

Finally, I want give a big "SHOUT OUT" for our captain. Not only is he capable but he is very HANDSOME.

Thanks for spending the afternoon with us Hoaldridge's--we'll have to do it again!!!

Trevor Turns the BIG 13!!!

Wow, can you believe that we now have 2 teenagers in our house. Having your birthday on a Sunday is always hard but I think it is double hard when it is on Fast Sunday. I stole an idea from Aunt Rebecca for birthday mornings. She has gotten the birthday person a plate of a dozen doughnuts for their birthday breakfast. Well I wanted to start this tradition with the first KID birthday of the year in our family. Trevor was my first try and I was so bummed that it was fast Sunday. I still presented him with his dozen doughnuts and told him that he could wait until next week to fast so he could enjoy his doughnuts now. I had one of those moments as a mom when you think, "Wow, I am very impressed with my child." Trevor made an AWESOME decision not to eat until he had broken his fast, but he was sure happy to get home from church and enjoy a doughnut.

The Only One That Got To Enjoy A Doughnut in The Morning...

Grandma Judy invited us down to her house for dinner and we had a nice roast, with corn on the cob, salad, jellos, and rolls. I asked Trevor what kind of cake he would like me to make him and he asked for THE MAMMOTH CHOCOLATE CAKE from Costco. (Got off easy on that one.) Well silly me forgot to take the camera to Grandma Judy's and I didn't get him blowing out the candles. But here is what is left of the cake--Jim and Traci and their family were also there to help eat this cake on steroids.

Happy Birthday Trevor, we couldn't imagine life with YOU!!!
