4 Wheeling with The Gardeners!!!

John and I had the opportunity to go on a four wheeling day trip with his best friend from high school and his wife, Dave and Sarajane Gardener. We borrowed Jim and Traci's four wheeler so we could both have fun (plus I get motion sick riding behind someone.) Our good neighbor, Carl Ahlberg, let us borrow his trailer to haul the four wheelers. We picked up the Gardner's nice and early and drove a short distance past Hobble Creek Golf Course and to the mouth of the canyon. We took a trail that eventually led us to Daniel's Summit which is close to Strawberry Reservoir. The ride was very beautiful, the trees were just starting to change but there were many rocky spots (not a trail I would want to have double riders on.) We had lunch at the Daniel's Summit Lodge and it was most delicious--I would definately recommend eating there if you have the chance. It took us most the day and was a fun way to enjoy nature. Thanks for the memories Gardner's!!!

The Cute "TWINS" (although the one on the right is the cutest!!!)

Jim called and asked John if he would be willing to come and help him with an Assembly at his Elementary school. The premise for the Assemble was to get the kids to "DOUBLE" their efforts in reading and record more minutes read than last year. The finale of the Assembly was Jim saying that he would "double" his efforts, and he brought John out and they played with the kids because they both dressed alike. John said the kids went nuts and it was fun for him to be back in the Elementary. Here is a picture that Traci sent me.

HAPPY 17TH JUSTIN!!!

My first baby turned 17 today. Wow, how did that happen? He was actually born on Labor Day and today is actually Labor Day. I remember how happy we were to have Justin join our family. He was such a GOOOOOOOOOOD baby. It has been fun watching him grow and mature. Every stage of life holds it ups and downs, but Justin is a great kid with a HUGE heart. It is hard to imagine that in two years, we will be putting him on a plane going who knows where so he can be a full time missionary, (notice the positive mental thinking.) Dad ran to the store to get the dozen doughnuts for his morning breakfast which you can see made the growing teenager very happy! (John wouldn't even give me time to put the doughnuts on a tray because they had a very early Tee Time, OF COURSE!)

Yummy Doughnut Breakfast:

He got a new phone for his birthday (better than mine). Still can't figure out how that happened and a new putter. We always give the boys the choice of where they want to eat, and Justin chose, Chili's.

I also always give the boys their choice of birthday cake. Justin asked for the huge, monster chocolate cake from Costco. The thing is that I forgot that Costco was not open on Labor Day, so we had to wait until Tuesday and the following picture is actually taken the day after his birthday but Justin wanted to wait because the Costco cake is what he wanted.

Look what JJ lost!!!!

JJ has had a very loose, bottom tooth for a couple of weeks and today he came home from school and sat down to eat lunch and bit into an apple and got very scared because something happened to his tooth. Well big, bad, mommy just had to put her thumb in there and it fell out. Of course, the blood sent JJ into hysterics but he lived through it and was very excited to show all his friends his tooth. He ended up losing the other bottom tooth the very next week. Our neighbor, Heather, down the street, gave JJ a tooth fairy box to put his tooth in, so he could get his "reward". He was very excited to wake up. This was a big moment for JJ because most of his friends are older than him and have their birthday before him and are taller than him and so forth, anyways, he was one of the first kids in his kindergarten class and neighborhood to lose a tooth and that just thrilled him which of course thrilled me.
